Red Deer O T S Monday Night Golf League

The Red Deer O T S Monday Night Golf League kicks off just before the long weekend in May and is held every Monday night at the Sylvan Lake Golf and Country Club every Monday except long weekend Mondays until late September.

Registration closes at 5:30 with a shotgun start at 6:00 pm. Prize money is available every week based on a handicapped point system. Golfers gather in the Duffers Den downstairs in the clubhouse after golf for refreshments, munchies, and the prize money is distributed to the winners.

To participate in this league you must be an OTS member ($25 annual fee), pay a $20 registration fee the first time you play each year, and pay a $20 green fee each week. OTS golf league members can bring guests and they play for $20 but are not eligible for the weekly prize money. You can either form your own foursomes or join up with other golfers when you arrive. Members’ handicaps are adjusted after entering three weeks scores in an attempt to even out the field. Occasionally a “game of the week” may be played with a few different twists to allocate the winners.

Many of our sponsors make this league available through donations of $150 annually to provide the prize money and allow us to keep the weekly cost to $20 to our golfers. There is a sponsorship board posted at the registration desk each week to acknowledge our sponsors. If you’re interested in helping out the OTS would appreciate any new sponsors and would include your company name on our sponsor board. Additional proceeds from this league fund our annual scholarship program where three $750 bursaries are available to members or members’ spouses or children attending full time post secondary education programs (see scholarship link).
